Curious about WHaQ! Meetings?

Curious about what happens in a WHaQ! Meeting??

Would you like to join WHaQ! but are scared about being “out there” and nervous about meeting a group of people you’ve never met before? Are you looking for other lesbian/bisexual women to talk to and get a little support from in coming out, being out, or living out?

We understand.

WHaQ! was founded in 2009 as a support group for lesbian and bi women and has had regular support meetings since that time. In 2014, WHaQ! was taken under the umbrella of Maya for Women Trust as one of four programmes. WHaQ! is the oldest and longest running programme of Maya for Women.

WHaQ! membership is completely confidential, and all members are screened before details of venue and event timings are shared, so we can keep our community and membership safe.

WHaQ meetings are special :). We get a chance to take a little time out just for ourselves, and focus on where we want to head. We talk about our lives, challenges we’re facing, and what it is to be a lesbian/bisexual woman in Bangalore.

Coming to our monthly support meetings are great ways to connect with other women that are like minded. It helps to have a place where you can relax and be just who you are – as you are. We consciously strive to be accepting, warm and caring of one another and ourselves – there are enough challenges that we face already! WHaQ! has been like a family to many of our members and we are very proud of the connections and hope that have come out of our fellowship.

We understand the coming out journey and we offer our support and unconditional love to people at any point in their journey. Be prepared for a relaxed, non-judgmental time of self-exploration and empowerment.

We usually go out for lunch afterwards, so please join us if you’d like to 🙂
